Celebrities - we all love them, or at least tolerate them. But some people have more extreme emotions than that. Obsessive fans devote their entire lives to their celebrity of choice, and in this feature we'll spotlight ten who took it over the line in some seriously disturbing ways. Get out your autograph books, people - these are the most obsessive fans in the world.
Tina Ledbetter
It's gotta be hard for an obsessive fan to watch the object of your desire find love and happiness. Such was the case for Tina Ledbetter, who had a serious thing for "Family Ties" star Michael J. Fox in the 1980s. When Fox got engaged to actress Tracy Pollan, Tina went off the rails and started sending dozens of letters to the actor every day, overflowing with threats to murder Pollan and any children the pair might have if Fox didn't split up with her immediately. Ledbetter would occasionally mix things up a little bit by mailing a box of rabbit turds instead. In 1989, police arrested her and she was sentenced to three years of probation. Ledbetter later went on to pull the same act on Scott Bakula.

Dante Michael Soiu
Gwyneth Paltrow gets a lot of ire in the blogosphere for her cartoonishly self-obsessed GOOP website, but one man saw past in his world of complete obsessive insanity. Dante Michael Soiu was a pizza deliveryman who had a single-minded fixation on Paltrow, mailing her packages and letters just about every day. His many gifts to the actress included a vibrator with "Because I Love You" written on it and porn magazines with Paltrow and Soiu's names written over the copulating couples. Things came to a head when Soiu started coming by Paltrow's parents' house, and he was arrested and eventually committed to a mental institution.

Herbert Chavez
Let's throw a little curveball into this feature with a fan who's obsessive, but not about a real person. Herbert Chavez is a big-time comic book fan from the Philippines who has major love for Superman, the Man of Steel. Herbert's devotion goes beyond hoarding boxes full of back issues, though - he actually got multiple plastic surgeries to turn himself into a walking replica of the famous superhero. Chavez's procedures included a chin augmentation, rhinoplasty and thigh implants. He's still miles away from Superman's famous physique, but that doesn't seem to be slowing him down.

Angelina Barnes
Some obsessed fans look to their celebrity object of affection for inspiration in all sorts of ways. For Oklahoma woman Angelina Barnes, her style icon Lady Gaga pushed her into a seriously obsessive fashion disaster. In 2011, inspired by the meat dress that Gaga wore to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, Barnes murdered a cat and used it to decorate an outfit to wear to a concert. A relative found the little monster in the bathroom with the animal's blood all over her face and took her to the hospital, where she threatened a nurse with a piece of broken glass when she learned she would be missing the Lady Gaga show.

Jeff Turner
One of the interesting things about obsessed fans is that they don't just stick to the A-listers. Case in point: Jeff Turner, a Santa Cruz, California man who has been stalking 80s teen pop star Tiffany for decades. Turner first got in trouble for trying to give the singer a gift of a samurai sword at her emancipation hearing, and even though Tiffany got a restraining order against him in 1989 he's still convinced that he and the singer have a "very strong friendship." For more on Turner's obsession, watch the superb documentary "I Think We're Alone Now."

Isis
One of the most all-out crazy obsessed fans is Isis, born Lesley Poindexter. The tall blonde woman is convinced that her and Keanu Reeves were the reincarnations of Egyptian gods Isis and Osiris, and thus were meant to be together in the present day. What told her this? Her dreams, which also told her that she will one day be elected President of the United States. Reeves ended up getting a restraining order against her after she traveled to Canada to hassle him while he was filming "The Day the Earth Stood Still."

Miljenko Parserias Bukovic
Some American celebrities have huge Mexican fan bases, but we didn't know Julia Roberts was one of them. That was before we heard about Miljenko Parserias Bukovic, an elderly man from Valparaiso who is so devoted to the "Pretty Woman" actress that he's had her face tattooed on his body -- 82 times! Bukovic's entire body is covered with pictures of Roberts taken from her various films, at a cost of over a million Mexican pesos, and he plans to continue with his disturbing tribute until he runs out of money or skin, whichever comes first.

Ralph Nau
In 1978, nutjob Ralph Nau received a message from his brain that told him he was married to Olivia Newton-John, and proceeded to travel the world trying to consummate this psychotic union. He got a fake California driver's license under the name of "Shawn Newton-John" and used it to get Olivia's address, sending her over 600 letters (some of which included a dead dog's teeth). He even went to Australia to attend her concerts, so Newton-John's managers had to make sure that there were security personnel in the adjacent seats to him.

Margaret Mary Ray
Margaret Mary Ray, one of the most famous celebrity stalkers of all time, harassed talk show host David Letterman for nearly a decade. She was first arrested in 1988 in the Lincoln Tunnel, driving Letterman's stolen Porsche with her three-year-old son in the back seat, but her obsession went back several years before that. Ray would repeatedly break into Letterman's house, claiming to be his wife, and he turned her into the subject of jokes on his program. Eventually she was committed to a mental hospital where a program of anti-psychotic drugs helped her get over her obsession. Unfortunately, when she was released she decided to start stalking astronaut Stony Musgrave instead.

Matthew Hooker
Romantic relationships are the Holy Grail for many obsessive fans, and this one was especially creepy. After Tom Cruise's marriage to Nicole Kidman ended in 2004, a man named Matthew Hooker decided that he was next in line to woo the Australian actress. Hooker made several phone calls to Kidman's home, offering to take her and the kids out for ice cream or to the ballet. Needless to say, she wasn't so enthused by the romantic attention of a total stranger, and eventually the cops were called and a restraining order put into place. Matthew Hooker freaked out, threatening to counter-sue and claiming that Kidman was just using him for publicity. Oh, and then he tried to run for president. Hooker was eventually jailed for a bar altercation in 2007 where he smashed a drinking glass into a woman's face.
