This is a pretty cool experiment that is worth checking out. It's going on live right now on their Facebook page, Dewar's will be taking the 3-D printing craze and putting their own interesting spin on it. To help introduce the world to their newest expression, Dewar's Highlander Honey, is giving people to opportunity to witness the craftsmanship of 80,000 bees live as they build sculptures out of their own beautiful golden honeycomb. This should help create a whole lot of buzz (had to do it).
Here's a little more info: The 3-B Printing Project is a unique digital and artistic initiative, which gives the concept of 3-D printing an innovative twist by employing the extraordinary activity of bees making honeycomb. The 3-B Printing Project guides 80,000 honey bees to build striking designs inspired by DEWAR'S Highlander Honey, a unique innovation crafted by the infusion of hand-selected Scottish honey along with natural flavors into the original DEWAR'S WHITE LABEL blended Scotch Whisky. The result will be two honeycomb sculptures built entirely by the bees.
