New Jersey Man Installs .44 Magnum Mailbox
Richard Buchko, a 49-year-old cabinet maker and metal fabrication business owner in Lopatcong, New Jersey has a better mailbox than you do.
Buchko recently installed a 350-pound replica of a .44 magnum in place of his old mailbox to help promote his business.
And so far it's working.
After seeing a similar project online, Buchko figured he could do it better. After a neighbor donated the 8-inch PVC pipe for the barrel, he fashioned the rest out of remaining plywood scrap.
While his new mailbox has stirred up gun-control debate from both sides, Buchko said his giant lawn gun is not a political statement.
"It's just to drum up business, because I'm broke," he said.
Working an hour or two a day, it took Buchko about four month to make his oversized gun that Dirty Harry would be proud of.
Buchko estimates 500-700 people have stopped to take photos, and the response has been mostly positive.
"I got nothing but compliments," he said. "I had one person throw eggs, but I'm sure that was just kids."
It has yet to earn him any new business as of yet, but he's still holding out hope.
"I built it because I can. You know what I mean?"

Also, check out our Google+ page and then follow it. It's not hard. Just do us this one favor. It'll be the last one we ask for. Until the next one.
