Twitter is, in many ways, the best thing to ever happen to gossip lovers. Giving the famous people of the world a venue to vent their inner thoughts 140 characters at a time has resulted in some serious hilarity, especially when they interact with each other. Celebrity Twitter feuds are peeks into the often pathetic lives of the rich and famous. Here are ten of the funniest and craziest Twitter feuds we've ever seen.
Rihanna vs. Ciara - 2011
They don't call them divas for nothing! When two major R&B stars got into it on Twitter, the putdowns came fast and bitchy. It all started in February 2011, when Ciara appeared on TV with Joan Rivers and mentioned that she'd run into Rihanna at a party, and "she wasn't nice." Ri quickly spat back on Twitter, faux-apologizing: "My bad, Ci, did I forget to tip you?" Implying that she was hired help didn't go over well, and the duo started a duel that quickly escalated to physical threats before being calmed down.

Ice-T vs. Aimee Mann - 2010
The fun thing about Twitter is that it brings together celebrities who normally would never have anything to do with each other and lets them fight. An excellent example: In April 2010, alt-rock singer Aimee Man tweeted, "Christ, there is no reason in the world anybody should ever have cast Ice T in a television show." Little did she know that the Iceberg is a prolific Twitter user, and he responded with a tirade of profanity telling Mann to "eat a hot bowl of d****." Mann did the right thing and apologized, realizing that Ice was a few levels beyond her on this one.

LeAnn Rimes vs. Brandi Glanville - 2011
Here's a feud that started outside of Twitter and got ugly (and public) real quick. When country singer LeAnn Rimes started knocking boots with married actor Eddie Cibrian, neither looked good. Cibrian's ex, Brandi Glanville, was probably the most aggrieved, and she took to Twitter in 2011 to excoriate Rimes, saying: "I told Eddie to please tell you that I think it is highly inappropriate for you to sing in my sons class on Friday. Boundries!!" Twitter probably isn't the most appropriate place to work out these issues, but the pair of ladies eventually came to an agreement to keep their bitchiness off the Internet.

Courtney Love vs. Lily Allen - 2010
Of all the mentally unstable celebrities we wouldn't want to trifle with, Courtney Love is pretty near the top of the list. But Lily Allen isn't afraid of man or beast, so she kicked off an epic Twitter feud in 2010 by sharing a picture of a particularly haggard-looking Love. Courtney responded in kind, unleashing 21 straight Tweets with bon mots like "your really a brat, is there anyone who you havent started a meaningless strop with? the night you did all the blow on earth." Allen, realizing she'd stirred up a hornet's nest, simply posted "sorry, that was mean. enuff of these juvenile musings , i should never have risen to the bait" and walked away.

George Lopez vs. Kirstie Alley - 2011
It's the job of a comedian to poke fun, but sometimes their targets take offense. When George Lopez decided to compare Kirstie Alley to a "dancing pig" on "Dancing With the Stars," the former "Fat Actress" wasn't feeling it. She quickly opened up with both barrels on Lopez, implying that if she was a pig, he was a "big bad, drunk woolf" who would fall into a boiling pot of vodka (a not-so-subtle jab at Lopez's drinking problem). Alley eventually settled the beef, but it was pretty ugly there for a while.

Shanna Moakler vs. Travis Barker - 2009
Divorce can make all the ugly stuff in a relationship come out, and few Hollywood splits have been quite as gross as the one between Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and wife Shanna Moakler. The pair went at each other like cats and dogs on Twitter in 2009, with Barker tweeting, "Your uncle is a convicted child molester @shannamoakler. Why won't u agree to keep him away from our kids? Are u really that s***** of a mom?" Needless to say, this didn't go over well with his ex, who threatened him with a lawsuit. Barker didn't let up, though, claiming he was "putting Moakler on blast" for endangering their kids.

Kelly Osbourne vs. Tila Tequila - 2010
Tila Tequila is a creature spawned of the Internet, so you don't really want to engage her on her home turf. The bobble-headed model and actress is also certifiably insane, so when Kelly Osbourne had some harsh words for her in 2010, things quickly spiraled out of control. Osbourne started it by tweeting about Tila, "I equate Tila to a fart. She is disgusting, stinks, is publicly embarrassing but kind of funny...No matter what you try and come back with the tampon says it all." Well, nobody compares Tequila to a fart, and she proceeded to go H.A.M. on the Osbourne daughter, unleashing a brutal volley of tweets telling Kelly she wears Depends diapers, is a Hot Topic reject and has cankles.

Chris Brown vs. Brian McKnight - 2012
R&B crooner Brian McKnight has made some interesting choices to get his career back on track, most notably recording a theme song for a porn site. But in June 2012, he decided to rake up some drama on Twitter with a series of posts, including a few that targeted Chris Brown's puny sentence for domestic abuse. Brown, never one to keep a level head, immediately fired back against McKnight, saying "When peoples careers get to the 'nobody cares' stage they use my name for publicity" before calling his latest song "TRASH." Unlike some of the other beefs on this list, this one was never peacefully settled.

Nick Cannon vs. Chelsea Handler - 2010
Some Twitter feuds start out as just joking around and quickly grow out of control. When comedienne Chelsea Handler tweeted, "I heard Nick Cannon is starting a comedy tour. Who's going to do the comedy?" it was just a jape at a strange career choice by Mariah Carey's boy toy. Cannon didn't take it so well, though, going buck wild on Chelsea with tweets like, "Everybody knows @Chelseahandler had sex with the head of E! for her show. So when it's cancelled, does he get residual p**** for the reruns?" Chelsea bowed out, unable to respond to Cannon's avalanche of disses.

Chris Brown vs. Raz B
I didn't want to put a celeb on here twice, but Chris Brown has really made a name for himself with Twitter beefing - he'll sink to any level, feuding with Odd Future and many others. Probably the nastiest he got was with former B2K singer Raz B. When Raz tweeted, "I'm just sittin here Thinkin how can n***** like @ebenet & @ChrisBrown disrespect women as Intelligent as @HalleBerry11 @Rihanna" - a perfectly good question, but Breezy didn't see it that way, instead launching into a tirade of brutal remarks on Raz, calling him a "d*** in the booty a** little boy," and then claiming that he wasn't homophobic. Oh, of course.
